Now I’ve seen everything – this town in Brazil is populated and run by women, and they’re looking for disposable beta provider males to wife them up. From the article:

How did this town come to be female-only?
The settlement dates back to the 1890s, when a young woman and her family were excommunicated from the Catholic church after she was accused of adultery.
Slowly more single women and mother-only families joined the community, and over the decades several attempts by men to interfere in their way of life made them adopt a strictly ‘no male’ policy.
One would think a target-rich environment would have no problem attracting men…until you read what life is like for any man that marries these women and any sons that result – it’s the ultimate “disposable male” story, even for the male children who’se only crime is their gender:
Sons are sent away when they reach 18 and no other men are permitted to live in the town, which sits in a remote valley 60 miles east of Belo Horizonte.
Although some are married with families, their husbands are made to work away from home, only being allowed to return at weekends.

I’m thinking that an in-depth investigation would tell a rather different story compared to the idyllic female paradise. If the the town is made up of mostly under-35 women, the question naturally is – where’s the older women? Maybe all is not as “happy in paradise” as they make it out to be…
